I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Geography, Sustainability, Community and Urban Studies at the University of Connecticut, USA. As a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) scientist and health geographer, I employ equity-oriented, mixed-method approaches that integrate spatial data and models (e.g., mobility tracking and interactive mapping) with community-based inquiry to address public health issues.

By directing the Human-Centered GIS Lab at UConn, I have developed several community-oriented GIS tools, ranging from static maps and web maps to more complex data dashboards and mobile apps. My goal is to make GIS and mapping more responsive to how people experience, understand, and shape their communities, and to inform public health and planning efforts that promote more equitable and healthy urban environments.
